Third Party Only Insurance.
For a motorist to drive on Gambian roads, it is a legal requirement to have at least third party only car insurance. This is to ensure that third parties involved in an incident are protected. Every customer who signs a rental contract will have the standard third party only insurance. This insurance is included in all our tariffs.
Every customer who signs a rental contract will have the standard Third Party insurance. This insurance covers the damage to any other car, person or property but not any fines you may incur or any damage to the hired car that remains the responsibility of the renter.
If you choose to pay for the ‘fuller cover’ insurance you will have the same conditions as the Third Party only insurance. In addition the insurance company will cover the damage to the AB Gambia Car Rental vehicle, but only the costs above the value of the deposit. Damage to the AB Gambia Car Rental vehicle is still the responsibility of the renter, but only up to the value of the deposit. If the costs are higher than the value of the deposit, the deposit will not be refunded.
A deposit has to be paid whenever you hire a vehicle. This amount is advertised on the website and on the AB flyers, and is not the same for all categories of vehicles. The amount is fully refundable; when the car is returned in the same condition as it left the office on the first rental day. Usually this deposit is paid by credit card. This credit card transaction will not be carried out when the car is returned in the same condition as when the contract started.
